As the eighth location of Handsome Factory, this Causeway Bay branch of the barbershop is hidden in a little cove between Fashion Walk and the World Trade Centre. Plus, it's right by one of our favourite cha chaan tengs, Cafe Match Box. The barbershop is helmed by master barber Argo, as well as barber Ricky, Anson and Alvis who are all pro barber artisans that have perfected their craft and mastered their skills at some of the world's best barbershops.
Upon arrival at the Handsome Factory, we noticed a faint woody scent permeating the air before we were asked if we'd like a drink. After all the health and safety checks (for body temperature and LeaveHomeSafe), it's time to relax and enjoy the full barbershop experience. The music is at a good ambient volume that is clear but doesn’t require the need to shout over when talking to the barber.
For the haircut, we meet with master barber Argo who is decisive and showcases good control as he cuts. As for the wet shave, the head is rested and the seat is lowered to a lie-down position, followed by a system of cool gel, hot and ice-cold towels for a swift and thorough shave that results in a smooth and close shave. The whole experience is enjoyable, and really quite relaxing. It's completed in about 50 minutes or so and as we leave, we can't help but feel a little more handsome than before.
