Hong Kong’s German film fest returns this October with a new lineup of films depicting stories about rebellion and courage, love and doubt, yearning and awakening. Highlights include Transit, based on the novel by Anna Seghers, an immigrant story updated to the 21st century; Whatever Happens (pictured), starring Sylvia Hoeks and Fahri Yardim as a couple ending their relationship and hoping for a painless separation; and The Silent Revolution, a Cold War drama set in a German school affected by the ripples of the Hungarian Uprising of 1956.
