Time Out says

The Hong Kong Dance Company is getting experimental this August. Their upcoming show, Reveries of the Red Chamber, is a three-part look at the Chinese literary masterpiece, Dream of the Red Chamber. The programme features three very different interpretations of the work, each helmed by three very different artistic minds: renowned choreographer and dance doyenne Helen Lai, artistic director of the HKDC Yang Yuntao, and theatrical player Hoyingfung. Each act brings the book to life from wildly different yet equally probing perspectives.

The performance features a specially designed set that provides audiences a view of Grand View Garden from different perspectives. A microscopic view invites the viewer into the heart of the garden from seating around it, while a macroscopic perspective provides a bird’s-eye view from the balcony, with the audience switching between the two during intermission. With themes explored including destiny, fate, letting go and seeking truth, this is a show not to be missed.
