Time Out Hong Kong in partnership with The Grounds

Time Out says

Hong Kong’s outdoor movie experience The Grounds is back for its fourth edition to light up the AIA Vitality Park with a dynamic series of films. Since the weather is getting cooler, this is the perfect time to head out with your picnic mats, a couple of squishy cushions, and your besties to enjoy some open-air movies against the backdrop of our city’s stunning harbour views.

This year, there’ll be exclusive showings of some features focused on the culinary arts – even if you don’t identify as a foodie, we’re sure your mouth will be watering. We’re particularly excited for Roadrunner, which follows the life and career of the legendary chef and travel documentarian Anthony Bourdain.

The Grounds will also screen a double-bill of both Dune films back to back, and transport viewers to other fan-favourite mythical worlds of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Star Wars, and Harry Potter. There will also be a lineup of nostalgic Hong Kong classics to celebrate our city’s rich cinematic history, so here’s hoping for some John Woo and Wong Kar-wai.

Of course, no good cinematic experience is complete without food so luckily, BaseHall has things covered. Expect some Italian delights from Nocino, tongue-numbing Sichuanese bowls from Twins Liangpi, Japanese options from Victuals by The Arcane Collective and Don Bowls & Rolls, sweet treats from Pinky Bakery, movie-themed gelato from Messina, and much more.

Slip on high-fidelity headphones, sink back into your choice of deck chair, bean bag, or loveseat, and enjoy the film experience of the season. Tickets will be available for sale from Wednesday, October 23.
