We’re backing our food and beverage businesses by lending our voice to their initiatives and campaigns

Time Out is all about exploring the best that Hong Kong has to offer, and we are a staunch supporter of the best places and establishments in the city. As one of the top media outfits to always break the news on the best events and activities happening in Hong Kong, we are saddened by the numerous event cancellations and venue closures the city has experienced due to the global pandemic. Local businesses have been negatively impacted due to a significant drop in customers eating, drinking, and buying goods and services from them.

In light of the current situation, and to support our community, we at Time Out Hong Kong are launching our Open for Business campaign as part of the Time Out global initiative that lends our voice to various crucial campaigns that are fighting to support local food, drink, culture and entertainment in cities worldwide. In Hong Kong, we want to celebrate and champion our local establishments and highlight that they are still open for business and in need of your support.

We are supporting Hong Kong’s F&B industry through Save Hong Kong F&B, an alliance of over 300 bars and restaurants in the city who have been greatly affected by the ongoing crisis. Prompted by the recent predicament in Hong Kong's food and beverage industry, Save Hong Kong F&B alliance was born in April 2020. The organisation has been supporting the F&B industry through voucher initiatives and lending their social and web platforms to highlight promotions and updates from participating businesses. Recently, Save Hong Kong launched the 2020 Wipeout campaign encouraging Hongkongers to purchase discounted e-vouchers online, to help restaurants and bars. The campaign ended early June and gained good traction from customers and supporters with restaurants and bars collectively raising over $1.5 million. The organisation is working on more initiatives in the future; sign up for their newsletter to get regular updates and follow @savehkfnb on Instagram and Facebook for news and more information.

We've also rounded up our editors' picks from each neighbourhood establishment that is currently open for business. Visit Time Out's Open for Business campaign page to flip through the recommendations and companies that we are supporting.
