Zulkarnaini: Rhythms

With simple, colourful straight lines, Indonesian artist Zulkarnaini is able to express a plethora of emotions and create illusions with scale and space. Having grown up observing his father paint houses, Zulkarnaini has taken to painting on carpets to illustrate an aesthetic narrative through abstract lines and shapes, from the calmness of straight lines to more abstract shapes that evoke feelings of weightlessness.
