As a relatively young artist, it makes sense that Song Sumin utilises the internet in her creative processes, collecting images online and deconstructing them before transferring the manipulated visuals onto canvas. In this solo exhibition, her work is related to gardens, with enlarged images of grass, flowers, smokey fires, and other natural landscapes like volcanoes. By zooming into the minutiae of smoke, sparks, and water droplets, viewers are left with a feeling of unfamiliarity, even when looking at scenes of the quotidien.
