Inspired by Edvard Munch’s lithograph print The Scream, American-Swiss artist Christian Marclay’s solo exhibition features a series of large-scale woodcut prints and expressive prints composed of screaming faces taken from comics and Japanese manga. Fascinated by how sound can be perceived and presented through still images, Maclay’s body of work is a haunting yet intriguing insight into how characters can be seen but not heard.
