Fascinated by asphalt and its abilities to record people's activities, Hungarian photographer Bence Bakonyi went on a two-year road trip through small villages around Central and Eastern Europe capturing asphalt imprints and surfaces. These photographs showcase social reality from a local perspective and through many candid conversations with villagers he’s met, Bakonyi has collected a wealth of oral narratives which is presented alongside his vivid images.
