As part of Tang Contemporary Art’s inaugural exhibition at their new space at H Queen’s – the city’s newest art hub – renowned and controversial Chinese artist returns to present his second exhibition in Hong Kong. Shining a light on the refugee crisis of old and new, Ai tells their stories via powerful artworks and installations including a giant black inflatable boat sculpture carrying a number humanoid figures, a wallpaper covering the gallery walls inspired by ancient Greece pottery art to represent the reality of Syrian refugees and stacked porcelain vases made into a big pillar.
