Time Out says

Among several changes to Glasgow design centre The Lighthouse during its struggle with administration a few years back was the opening of the Tojo design shop in its foyer. By bringing in a new source of revenue, this selector and supplier of high-end contemporary furniture, lighting and accessories has played its part in the Mitchell Lane complex’s steady revival since then. A lot of their stuff will be too expensive for average shoppers, but it’s impressive to look at and, if nothing else, a source of inspiration.

Brands in the Tojo collection include Vitra, KnollStudio, MARK, Swedese, Lightyears, HAY, Cherner, and Darestudio. Some brands they re-sell with a degree of exclusivity – they’re the only stockist in Glasgow of classic Swedish modular shelving line STRING for instance, and one of only three in Scotland (with STRING’s simplest and smallest shelving ensemble starting at £110, you can kind of understand why).

Those on a budget may be tempted by colourful teapots and mugs in Finnish brand Marimekko’s instantly recognisable colourful patterns, or cute ‘50s-style homewares from British maker Magpie’s Birdy range, or funky stationary by HAY. There are Eames pieces aplenty from tables and hangers to iconic fibreglass chairs with static wood and wire or wood rocking bases. If the sky’s the limit, you can build a truly beautiful home or office here from the plethora of lovely things they showcase, from Eero Saarinen Knoll Felt Fabric Womb chairs to Caravaggio pendant lamps. Most items are available from their website, so non-Glasgow-based buyers can enjoy too.
