Time Out says

Far from simply capitalising on Glasgow’s reputation as one of the great electronic dance music cities of the world, Rubadub has been a vital contributor to such success. Situated just around the corner from legendary underground clubbing institution Subclub – touring DJs often arrive early for their show to give them time to nip over to Rubadub for a browse – this specialist dance music and technology shop is a must-visit for music consumers and music makers alike.

Upon opening in 1992, Rubadub established itself as the last word in underground dance music vinyl in Scotland, and this remains what it does best. You’ll find everything from techno and house to dubstep, disco, hip hop, reggae, rock, funk, soul, jazz, and just about every variant of those styles under the sun somewhere in the racks.

But the shop has also made a name for itself as a place to buy DJ and electronic music gear, be it by big brands like Native Instruments, M-Audio, Akai, Novation, Pioneer, Sennheiser, Korg and Moog, or boutique companies like Analogue Solutions, Neumann, Doepfer and MFB.

Intimidating as such a specialist store may appear on first impressions, the staff are more than happy to help, whether you’re looking to buy your first midi controller and audio interface, or pick up a pair of top-end studio monitors. It’s one of the key reasons why Glasgow is such a conveyer belt for top dance music DJs and producers, some of whom, such as Jackmaster, have even served behind the counter themselves in the past.
