Founded in 2013, Love Salvage has succeeded in bringing a little bit of contemporary style and savvy to the age-old art of trading vintage and reclaimed pieces. The showroom is based in a big old church in the Govan area of Glasgow – slightly out of the way, but always worth the trip. Govan Subway is nearby, but a car is more advisable if you’re in a buying mood.
Stock covers everything from reclaimed floors, doors and windows to industrial pendant lamps, retro furnishings and conversation-piece curios like homemade ornaments and old film props. For something completely unique, check out their selection of upcycled furnishings, created and sold in partnership with a select group of local artisan furniture designers and salvagers.
There are bargains to be had here, and you can browse new stock on the shop’s well-maintained website. However, the best pieces will be snapped up before they’ve made it online, so it’s worth visiting in person if you can.
