Space funk, anyone? Or a little erotic house? Or how about some hauntological disco? Never let it be said that a good night’s clubbing in Glasgow is one of humdrum sounds, as our three picks for the week ahead well prove. Be it a night hosted by intergalactic groove explorers, or a proper house legend, or DJs who’ll make you shake in more senses than one, this far-out trio are as eclectic as clubs come.

A Haunting– Nice’n’Sleazy, Tue Apr 7
A haunting happening, taking place every first Tuesday of the month at Nice’n’Sleazy and every second Saturday at Redmond’s of Dennistoun, A Haunting is a multimedia clubnight hosted by DJs Jules and Alice mixing up hauntological disco, spectral folk-funk and radiophonic records alongside carefully curated visual curio from frightening films to eerie images. Head along and learn the true meaning of panic at the disco.

Intergalactic Funk Smugglers – The Berkeley Suite, Fri Apr 10
It’s fun, Jim, but not as we know it, as the Intergalactic Funk Smugglers land at the Berkeley Suite with their phasers set to 'funk'. Expect squelching 808 basslines, cosmic synthesiser freakouts and beats to take you to another dimension as the IFS DJs continue their 'unstoppable crusade' to search out obscure cuts from the four corners of the funk galaxy and return them to earth in circular wax form, forcing you to dance like no man (nor woman) has danced before.

Subculture with Lil’ Louis – Sub Club, Sat Apr 11
The Sub Club’s routine Saturday night roof-raiser welcomes an extra-special special guest this weekend in the form of Lil’ Louis, AKA Chicago-born producer and DJ and 'Founding Father of house' Marvin Burns (pictured above). Responsible for several bona fide hits in the late 1980s and early 1990s – three US dance chart number ones among them, most notably the deliriously racy ‘French Kiss' – his tracks blast from the Subby speakers on a regular basis, so it’s about time he was welcomed back in the flesh. Burns will also be appearing at a free 'an evening with' event at the Sub Hub on Sun Apr 12.
