Parc de les Ribes del Ter

The Park of the Ribes del Ter ('ribes' means banks) runs alongside the course of the river Ter, from Fontajau up to a spot in front of the meadows ('deveses') of Pont Major. The appeal of this area, quite apart from its inherent beauty, is its rich, varied wildlife. The ornithological observation points provide an excellent opportunity to contemplate the birds that nest there, and it's also possible to see insects, amphibians and fish. On Saturday mornings, the Asociació de Guíes de Turisme de Girona (the Tour Guides Association of Girona) organises nature tours aimed at all ages, which are accessible to people with reduced mobility and also feature a sign-language service.
