El Casino

A meeting-place for both locals and tourists, the Casino (headquarters of the Societat L'Amistat, or Friendship Society) is one of the most popular spots in Cadaqués. Located right on the seafront, you'll find it buzzing at all hours, and it's perfect for enjoying a vermouth, beer or soft drink, or playing a game of cards or dominoes. There are tables both inside and out, and it's not unusual to find people sitting on the windowsill. It's also an ideal spot to enjoy the sun and appreciate the Mediterranean air. Close by is another unmissable venue, a patisserie where you can buy the famous 'taps', small sponge cakes in the shape of champagne corks ('tap' in Catalan), that Cadaqués is famous for.
