Time Out says

Cap Pons was once a haberdashery, founded in 1891 in the Plaça Major of Banyoles and which passed from generation to generation until it was transformed in 2011 into a bar-café, becoming one of the most popular in the city. You can still find visual clues to its past, such as the poster for the Almacenes Figueras, and if you lift your eyes, you'll see  thimbles and hooks. Take a seat on the terrace, an excellent spot for people-watching, and if you're peckish you should try the croquettes with gorgonzola and walnuts, and the patates braves (fried potates with spicy sauce).
