Contemporary Art Centre El Bòlit is a haven for Girona's artistic talent. This municipal space opened in 2008 with the goal of developing the research, production and exhibition of local contemporary art projects. In the three spaces that make up the centre, you'll see exhibitions by creatives from the city and its surrounds, as well as shows by artists from elsewhere. In addition to the exhibitions, EL Bòlit hosts workshops, discussions and activities related to the shows. And if you're wondering where the name comes from, a 'bòlit' is a game with a lot of connections to the neighbourhood of Sant Narcís: it's a kind of baseball played with bats and a ball (the bòlit) made of wood.
