In 2014, the original ‘welcome’ gate was stolen from Dachau concentration camp, and a replica was forged to replace it. In this new durational show, performance artist Rachel Mars spends four days forging another copy, in a show that asks questions about the nature of memorials and the preservation of sites of collective trauma.
There are multiple time slots throughout the day and you’re invited to stay as long as you like, subject to capacity. Due to the nature of the subject matter – ie the Holocaust – the age advice is 16-plus.
