In one form or another Cadenhead’s has been around since 1842, surviving as one of the very few remaining independent bottlers of decent Scotch – nothing chill filtered, no caramel colouring. Its Canongate shop in Edinburgh is a magnet for whisky aficionados; some of the whiskies on sale here are nothing short of magnificent. Also does good rum and gin.
