There are three branches of Armstrong’s around the city and each is jam-packed but the Grassmarket outlet was the first and remains the biggest and most alluring. Here you can find old suits, uniforms, kilts, shirts and coats for men; women can browse flapper chic, tea dresses from the nineteen-forties, prom dresses from the nineteen-fifties and much more – including accessories.
