Not for nothing do locals still often refer to Contini Ristorante by its former, more familiar name, Centotre. While the owners decided to put their names above the door in 2014, to celebrate this Italian eatery’s 10 year anniversary, very little, happily, has changed. Nestled towards the end of George Street, the space remains light and airy, with the owners creating a neat, contemporary space in this former banking hall.
It’s an all-day affair here with breakfast, lunch and dinner happily munched alongside freshly brewed coffee or an impressive wine and cocktail list. The atmosphere is laidback; the service attentive without being over-bearing, whether you’re propping up the bar or whiling away the afternoon in one of the comfy booths. Everything feels – and tastes – suitably authentic, with the best of Italy brought to the plate, with some amazing Scottish produce thrown lovingly into the mix, as part of a daily changing menu.
