Nawroz Restaurant (CLOSED)

A Kurdish and Middle Eastern diner by the George Square campus of the University of Edinburgh, Nawroz offers cheap lunch and pre-theatre deals, an area for smoking shisha pipes and an interior that’s an odd collision of modern canteen furniture and Kurdish ornament. The dinner menu is fairly extensive but far from premium-priced; a typical main might be a traditional lamb kebab cooked over charcoal, with rice (£12.95). No licence but BYOB, no corkage.
