Calistoga Restaurant

Calistoga hides down a lane in the city centre and offers oddly corporate décor but a riotous Californian menu. Starters can include chilli beef tacos as well as mussels in white wine and garlic for example; mains feature steak with Zinfandel jus, also chicken breast in pumpkin, chilli and chocolate mole. Honey and mustard pork loin comes with mac’n’cheese. To Old World foodies it looks incoherent but it’s fun.
