The main building here dates to 1687 and much of its late Jacobean character remains with opulent antique furniture and lush upholstery complementing the look. Guests tend to be bowled over the period features, service standards and overall experience. There are only eighteen rooms and five suites although each is pretty damn gorgeous. Prestonfield also sits its own grounds, just under Arthur's Seat, and offers destination dining courtesy of Rhubarb.
