By rights, Liz Kingsman’s tour de force ‘One-Woman Show’ should have taken the top comedy award at either the 2020 or 2021 Fringe. That didn’t happen for obvious reasons, and it would possibly seem a bit peculiar if it went on to win it in 2022 after having been so roundly coronated on its subsequent sell-out London runs. Nonetheless, Edinburgh is in for a treat. It’s not so much a parody of ‘Fleabag’ as a merciless send-up of the feeding frenzy around Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s former Edinburgh hit, with Kingsman playing a fame hungry version of herself determined to create her own ‘edgy’ solo show in a shamlessly Waller-Bridge mould.
