Who says cupcakes should always be cute? An Edinburgh bakery has come up with a gruesome range of featuring severed ears, bursting boils and dead mice - just in time for Halloween.
Cuckoo’s Bakery has created the repulsive range based on a tale of a professor who once experimented with the plague above their Dundas Street site. In the story, Professor Rothesay’s grotesque experiments in the 19th century left behind an ear, eyeball, dead mouse, runny nose, shard of glass and infected foot, and the bakery has designed cupcakes paying homage to the revolting tale.
If you can handle the horrendous decorations, the cakes will be on sale from Friday October 23 until Sunday November 1, and there will also be a gift shops featuring a copy of ‘The Cuckoo Tale’.
Have a look through the gallery – can you stomach these cupcakes?
