Stan Douglas

Much celebrated for his mid-'90s film installation 'Der Sandmann', Canadian artist Douglas has since earned a reputation for creating evocative explorations of the intersection of history and memory, recently focusing on the artificial reality of photography. As well as 'Der Sandmann', Fruitmarket will also be showing 'Hogan's Alley' and 'Hotel Vancouver', both of which formed sets for theatre performance 'Helen Lawrence' at the Edinburgh International Festival in 2014.
