Frank Walter – AKA the self-styled 7th Prince of the West Indies, Lord of Follies and the Ding-a-Ding Nook – was a flawed genius: a hugely gifted artist and writer, born, raised and based in Antigua, but limited by his delusions of aristocratic grandeur and an obsession with Scotland (he believed he was descended from Scottish nobility). The Ingleby Gallery – which in 2013 hosted the first ever exhibition of his work – will present the most comprehensive view yet of Frank Walter the artist, through pieces assembled from private collections and from the artist’s estate.
