Male Madlene

For an arty town that keeps on throwing up highly individual places to eat, Male Madlene is very much in the Rovinj tradition. It’s the brainchild of retired art historian Ana Balzareno, who decided to capitalize on her lifelong enthusiasm for fine food by opening a restaurant in her living room. The menu is based around a number of bite-sized dishes, ideal for haute-cusine snacking; a delectable treat for someone with a light appetite, if you want a full meal, you’ll simply need to order more and watch the bill mount up – not a problem if you enjoy what Ana serves.
