The trendiest spot to open in 2009, Black Rock is based on the concept of cooking your own meat on a very hot piece of black volcanic rock right at your table. The idea is that this process is healthier because it uses no excess fat or oil. Concepts aside, the food is good. Besides steaks, veal, sirloin and filet mignon, they serve wonderful pork ribs, soups, risottos and fuži pasta dishes with truffles. Expect to pay in the 100kn range for upscale mains. The wine list is comprehensive with selections from Croatia, Slovenia, France and italy. Located next to, and on the same level as, the Cibona basketball arena, the interior is quite flash, with red walls, wooden floor and tables, the waiters smartly attired in all black with red ties.
