Editor's note: Gjuro II is closed with no immediate plans to reopen.
There's something welcomingly lived-in about the rather worn and tatty Gjuro II (there is not a Gjuro I, just so you know), a cult Zagreb location that somehow succeeds in staying popular from one generation to the next. The narrow passageways on either side of the oblong bar ensure that you'll bump and squeeze your way past fellow patrons on you way to the dancefloor at the back of the club. The weekly schedule is an increasingly improvised affair, with different DJs offering widely different styles of music on different weekends – checking the club's facebook page should help. Drink prices (bottled Beck’s, Stella and Corona) are on the reasonable side. The admission charge is generally around 20kn, and free on Tuesdays.
