Like Brooklyn and Shoreditch, Zagreb is a hotspot for craft brews. As summer comes, so does the annual Beer Festival. Running June 1-4, this one of the most eagerly anticipated events in the local calendar, with great pub food and a packed line-up of local musicians and hot DJs complementing the many beers on offer.

With representation from all of Croatia's most notable breweries, including Varionica, Zmajska and Medvedgrad, this is a must for all lovers of ales, lagers and much else in between. Combining music festival with beer garden, Tuđman park will be the happening place in Zagreb until Sunday. Entry to concerts is free and you can pay by cash or card for food and drink.

For more information and the full schedule of musical acts, check out the Facebook event page

Where: Park dr Franje Tuđmana. When: June 1-4.
