Staff at Zadar Airport have just welcomed its millionth passenger this year, a month earlier than when the same figure was recorded in 2022.
A hub for Ryanair, with services from London Stansted, Liverpool, Newcastle, Leeds/Bradford and Dublin among around 50 other points around Europe, Zadar has seen its visitor numbers rise from around half a million in 2016 to twice that today.
A key driver in this phenomenon has been the popularity of music festivals in the area, a trend that is set to continue into 2024.
More than 1.25 million passengers are expected in 2023 as a whole, 12 percent more than last year – 295,000 passengers were recorded in August alone, which makes it the busiest month in the history of Zadar Airport.
