As part of this weekend’s Zagreb Light Festival, projecting imaginative installations at 29 locations across the Croatian capital, one stands out in particular: the geometric creation of Spanish artist Javier Riera across the façade of the Art Pavilion on Trg kralja Tomislava near the train station.
Lasting several minutes, this light intervention comprises geometric projections that alternate and merge in a natural rhythm and continuous flow accompanied by sound, inviting contemplation and dedicated observation of artistic work in a public space.
Visitors are invited to stop, sit in designated places in the centre of the park and immerse themselves in this unique light experience, evoking a state of contemplation, amazement and tranquillity at the same time.
Javier Riera explores the relationship between geometry and nature, as well as the dimensions hidden in the space where the intervention itself takes place. He has exhibited in galleries, museums and public spaces in Paris, Madrid, Lyon, Durham, Bilbao and Prague, and now in Zagreb.
Rhythm and Measure of Light will be projected every evening until March 24, from 6pm to 11pm.
