Legendary Icelandic indie band Sigur Rós are coming to Croatia this summer to play two concerts at the historic location of St Michael’s Fortress in Šibenik. Back on the road after a long hiatus, the group will appear on consecutive nights at the medieval landmark. The fortress sits atop the Dalmatian city, backdropped by the Adriatic beyond.
Reopened in 2014 and winner of the national Cultural Attraction of the Year award, St Michael’s doubles up an open-air summer stage as well as a heritage sight in its own right.
Currently finishing their first studio album for nearly a decade, Sigur Rós also have dates lined up in Rome, Barcelona and Madrid. The Šibenik shows take place on July 24-25. See here for ticket details.
