Once a year, the northern Croatian town of Varaždin bursts into action for Špancirfest. Kicking off tomorrow, Friday, August 18, and running for ten days, the festival will attract crowds from across Croatia and the region for music, dancing and all kinds of performances.

Špancirfest sees the historic town's streets, squares and courtyards transformed into temporary stages, theatres, restaurants, bars, clubs and workshop spaces in order to accommodate one of the largest and most diverse public celebrations in Croatia.
