In the village of Karanac, just outside Osijek, the Balaš family has built a small town for their fine feathered friends and named it Kokingrad.
Home to hens, roosters, ducks, pigeons and other similar creatures, Kokingrad was created by the mother of the family, Gordana, and built by her husband and their son, Nikola.
Roughly translated as Chickentown, Kokingrad has brought rare focus to this modest settlement of 1,000 souls near the Hungarian border, recent vistors including PIXSELL photographer Dubravka Petrić.
