As the year draws to a close, the picturesque region of Istria and the historic city of Dubrovnik are preparing to welcome in 2024 in style. Here’s a quick rundown of some of the highlights on offer on New Year’s Eve.
ISTRIA
Novigrad will welcome the new year with its Goodbye 2023! programme, from noon until 7pm. In front of the town sports hall, a festive hub will offer mulled wine, sausages, sauerkraut and Istrian pastries, complemented by a string of local bands who will take the stage to entertain.
In Poreč, renowned Croatian singer-songwriter Petar Grašo will play for the crowd on the main square at 10pm, while a parallel celebration takes place at Trg Matije Gupca from 9pm with a set from DJ DeJviD. More details can be found here.
Pula’s Forum will host an enticing line-up of acts, with DJ Sword warming up the crowd from 9pm to 11pm, followed by Croatian singer Indira Forza from 11pm to 1am. Then, until 4am, the Funbox band will provide the party tunes as 2024 begins with a bang.
Finally, in Rovinj, the regionally renowned Dubioza Kolektiv (who attained a degree of international notoriety with their viral sensation The Pirate Bay Song) will headline festivities with a concert from 11pm. Before that, DJ FOR SHURE kicks things off from 8.30pm, while DJ SO CHIC will lead the crowd into the early hours of the morning following a laser show.
DUBROVNIK
The main street of Stradun in Dubrovnik is set to host a performance by the huge Bosnian musical star Zdravko Čolić, starting at 10pm. At four other locations throughout the city, LED screens and sound systems will be set up so that those who can’t make it to Stradun get to enjoy the show regardless. With the historic city as a backdrop, Dubrovnik promises to be an enchanting New Year's Eve experience.
