The opening ceremony has just taken place of Pelješac Bridge, a spectacular crossing that stretches for nearly 2.5 kilometres between Komarna on the Dalmatian mainland and Brijesta on the Pelješac peninsula.
Traditional boatmen, musicians and klapa singers welcomed the opening of the bridge that was mainly financed by EU funding. Its location just north-west of the Bosnian section of shoreline means travellers can continue their journey through Dalmatia without having to go through passport control either side of the resort of Neum.
