The most significant hotel opening in Croatia for several years, the Grand Hotel Brioni is now open for business on the sea-facing vantage point of Punta Verudela outside Pula.
Surrounded by lush vegetation, this five-star contemporary complex cost an approximate €34 million to convert from a historic hotel dating back 50 years. For the Arena Hospitality Group, which oversees 26 properties around Istria and, unusually for a Croatia-based hotel chain, beyond the borders too, it represents a massive investment in Croatian tourism.
Open year-round, the Grand Hotel Brioni comprises 227 rooms, each with either a sea or garden view, a 55-inch flat-screen smart TV and a walk-in shower. Suites run to 61 square metres of luxury, complemented by a furnished balcony. Original local art features throughout.
The hotel has already staged the prestigious gala dinner for the MAXI ON regatta – there are four restaurants on-site – and congress tourism is a major factor in the investment. Guests and dignitaries can also take advantage of the saunas, indoor pool, jacuzzi, massage and beauty treatments, and huge infinity pool.
