A big hit in recent years, Le Grič returns to Zagreb this August. Billing itself as an intimate alternative to summer's bars and bustle, this seasonal event provides gentle string music as guests sip a selection of fine Croatian wines and champagnes on a romantic terrace in Zagreb’s Upper Town.

Every Saturday this month – weather permitting – from 7pm to 11pm, a walkway at the top of Radićeva ulica behind the Zagreb City Museum becomes a communal outdoor café illuminated by candles and lamplight. With a view over the rooftops of the capital, visitors can choose between wines and champagnes from Istria, Zagreb, Slavonia and Dalmatia. A seat at a table is free of charge, working on a first-come, first-serve basis.

For more information, check the event’s Facebook page.

Where: Top of Radićeva ulica, on the street behind the Zagreb City Museum
When: Every Saturday in August, 7pm-11pm (weather permitting)
Admission: FREE
