In preparation for Easter, more than 80 stands representing family farms from all over Croatia will showcase and sell their produce in the capital at Bundek park. From 2pm on Friday, March 22 until Sunday at 8pm, visitors can peruse the fruit and vegetables, dried meats, dairy products, cooking and dressing oils, even homemade ointments and jewellery.
Over the weekend, visitors will also be treated to performances from two children’s choirs, as well as music and dance shows by cultural associations from around Croatia.
Alongside the desire to promote family farms and local produce, the organisers also hope to connect visitors with producers in their areas, supporting sustainable food practices for the long term.
One-off visitors curious about this growing trend in Croatia will find plenty of delicacies and fresh, high-quality produce to sample, perhaps taking something home to prepare a hearty meal from ingredients from these dedicated small-batch producers.
Where: Bundek park, Zagreb When: Fri Mar 22, 2pm-8pm; Sat-Sun Mar 23-24, 10am-8pm Admission: Free
