An act called Baby Lasagna has won Dora 2024, Croatia’s national song contest, and will go on to appear at Eurovision in Malmö this May.

Performed in English, the song Rim Tim Tagi Dim won the public vote by a landslide, ten times more Croatians choosing its driving Eurobeat rhythm and tale of rural isolation than voted for the nearest challenger.

Baby Lasagna is none other than Marko Purišić, who previously appeared at Dora 2019 as a member of the Balkan rock band Manntra from his native Umag. Going solo in 2023, Purišić changed his stage name and became a late entry at the Dora semi-final.

Trailing in third place behind Baby Lasagna in the final, controversial Rijeka band Let 3 made the headlines in 2023 when they inspired an older couple to hitch all the way to Liverpool to see them perform the previous winning song at Dora, Mama ŠČ!
