In further great news for Croatia’s tourism industry, United Airlines flights direct from New York have just started landing in Dubrovnik, the first of 70 expected until the end of September.
An estimated 10,000 passengers should be travelling from New York to Dubrovnik this summer, a huge boost for the city’s hotel owners and restaurateurs.
Four flights a week will be arriving from Newark over the four-month schedule. The Boeing 767-300 planes carry a passenger load of 214, 30 of which are in business class. These seats were sold out for the first arrival of 2022 that touched down in Dubrovnik this week.
United began flying direct to Dubrovnik in 2021, reporting a load factor of just under 78% despite the pandemic. For 2022, the Chicago-based airline has a monopoly on direct routes between the USA and Dubrovnik.
As Croatian citizens no longer need visas to enter the US, the Dubrovnik-Newark route should be just as attractive.
