Just opened for its seventh edition, the annual Art Zagreb fair and exhibition, the largest of its kind in Croatia, spotlights some of the best contemporary fine art from living artists. Though its main focus is placed on the Croatian art market, it’s an event of international character with 16 galleries from Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia and France in attendance.

The main components are exhibitions and a general art fair where art historians, buyers and enthusiasts alike can see paintings, sculpture, photography and digital art all created over the past 50 years or earlier. There is also a series of lectures and panel discussions – though these extras may be in Croatian only. Regardless, all parts of Art Zagreb are completely free to attend and a full timetable is available here. On Friday and Saturday evening, December 13-14, a DJ programme will accompany proceedings from 7pm to 11pm.

Where: Meštrović Pavilion, Trg Žrtava Fašizma 16
When: Until Dec 15. Fri 4pm-11pm, Sat 11am-11pm, Sun 11am-4pm
Admission: FREE
