A globe-trotting project to promote Stateside culture across the Atlantic is passing through Rovinj this week as part of an extensive European tour. The next stop for American Music Abroad is the city's main square of Trg Riviera, where students from music schools across the States will be playing American folk and classical works in a 90-minute performance under the heading of Stars and Stripes. The show takes place from 9pm on Wednesday, June 19.

American Music Abroad was founded in 1975 by a high school band director and his wife to share their love of Europe with students, adults and locals wherever they visit. Since then, AMA has organised more than 320 tours, involving nearly 40,000 participants.

While the orchestras also play at prestigious concert halls, they like to give free shows as a thank you to their hosts.
