Tucked away in the Varoš neighbourhood near the palace, this is one of the best options for price and comfort. Owned by Joanne, a Croat from New York,  the lovely old stone house harbours new, simply furnished but chic rooms, with satellite TV, air-con and Wifi. There are three apartments with spacious living areas, including one top-floor apartment with terrace. Breakfast is available in a restaurant round the corner for a modest extra fee, and alley parking is available for €10/day.
