Set in an elegant old villa, the Hotel Arbiana, with 28 rooms, provides comfortable lodgings and perhaps the most serious four-star option on Rab island. The building originally opened in 1924 as the Hotel Bristol and was given a complete renovation in 2006. As it’s set at the tip of the peninsula that holds Rab’s Old Town, it’s near everything but away from the busiest part of the harbour. Most rooms have balconies overlooking the harbour-side walkway and the sea beyond. All are spacious and decorated with classic, antique-style furniture and expansive, cushy chairs. Also beautifully furnished are the two bars and the notable restaurant, the San Marino.
