Where to stay in Korčula town...
The only hostel on Korčula town, Caenazzo is perfectly equipped for backpackers - there's an onsite restaurant providing standard fare and free WiFi throughout the property. All rooms have air conditioning, lockers and a shared bathroom.
The name of this neat family-run site means ‘Three Beaches”, an accurate description of its location beside the shoreline-hugging Korčula-Račišće road, 6km out of town. Set at the part of the Pelješac Channel where favourable winds blow, it’s a lovely spot for windsurfers – the windsurfing resort of Viganj is just across the water.

This large campsite is situated in an enclosed bay 3km (30 minutes’ walk) from the Old Town. Pitches are set out amid dense shrubbery and trees, providing plenty of shade. It’s certainly the best-equipped site in the area, with a shop, pizzeria and snack bar on site as well as the usual amenities. There’s a small sandy beach at the bottom of the site but it’s not the cleanest place for swimming – you’re better off taking the bus to Lumbarda or the boat to Badija.
A 50-pitch site just over five kilometres from Korčula on the Račišće road, Vrbovica is set right beside the sea and has access to a beach and a pier for tethering small boats.
